Party Favors? Balloons? Who needs them? Who forgot them? #thismom #awkward
I seriously hate party favors. I hate giving the kids junk and I hate when my kids come home from parties with junk that will just end up in the trash. So this year I decided, “No, no. You’re not tricking me this time, you silly Dollar Tree aisle of crap-ola.” And since we booked my daughter’s party at a jumpy place which included food and drinks, I proudly showed up with nothing in my hands. Literally nothing.
But wait for it, I sort of forgot that she would see all of the other parties going on at the same time. One party had a full-on pirate theme with blow-up sword favors which then led to an active sword fight.
Another table had a princess theme with a table adorned with special princess table cloths, party hats, large balloons, and of course fairy dust (you know there’s not one parent that wants their child coming home with fairy dust.)
And then there was my daughter’s table. We had the red table cloth and plates that came with the party package and nothing else. Literally nothing. Ooops. The thought literally didn’t even cross my mind that I should bring balloons and other situations. And you know what? She didn’t care. Just kidding…she did and asked why all of the other tables were so decorated. #awkward
So what did I learn from this experience? Pretty much nothing. I still don’t believe in the favors and excess. Instead I’d rather use the money to pay a place to take care of ‘almost’ everything. And then use the rest on myself.
And since I’m not featuring any party favors today, I’m just going to show you awesome items that I covet from etsy instead. You’re welcome very much.
