I think I’m Best Friends Forever With Tina Fey.
It’s true. I just finished listening her audio book Bossypants and I feel l like she spent all 335 minutes speaking directly to me. Sometimes I actually spoke back to her (but let’s not focus on that. Because that’s just awkward.)
If you haven’t read or heard the book yet, you should. I always knew Tina (that’s what I imagine she would want me to call her) was hilarious, but to top it off, she’s actually super cool and relatable. Here are some of the most memorable quotes from Bossypants (that she spoke directly to me):
“You have to remember that actors are human beings. Which is hard sometimes because they look so much better than human beings.”
(Tina’s wish for her daughter) “Lead her away from Acting but not all the way to Finance. Something where she can make her own hours but still feel intellectually fulfilled and get outside sometimes and not have to wear high heels.”
“What Turning Forty Means to Me: I need to take my pants off as soon as I get home. I didn’t used to have to do that. But now I do.”
“Don’t waste your energy trying to educate or change opinions; go over, under, through, and opinions will change organically when you’re the boss. Or they won’t. Who cares? Do your thing, and don’t care if they like it.”
*This post was in no way sponsored by Tina Faye. In fact she probably has a restraining order against me.
Call me Tina. Call me.
