Thanksgiving, Hanukkah and Christmas are almost here and yes I’m officially in freak out mode. Why oh why are we carving a turkey on the same night we’re lighting a menorah? Does cranberry sauce go with apple sauce? Should I wear a moo-moo so I can eat stuffing, latkes and Christmas cookies all at the same time? These are all legit questions people.
Never fear, Etsy Stalkers is here to help you shop, dress, decorate and more for the holidays. I hope you enjoy these items as much as I have loved shopping for them.
Gifts for your man. Men are so freaking hard to shop for. I’ve never experienced one holiday or birthday where I’ve been all I have the perfect gift idea for Gary. It just doesn’t happen. Until now. I’ve searched high and low for unique gifts that any man will love (or at least ones that won’t take up too much room in your house).
Gifts for the ladies. Face it, when you start shopping for the holidays, you end up buying twice as much stuff for yourself. Hey, I speak from experience. So I’ve gone ahead and made it easy for you to spoil yourself. Hey, you deserve it.
Gifts for your kids.
Buy something personalized: I can’t begin to tell you how many gifts I end up buying for teachers, hostess gifts, myself, etc. and I’m always trying to figure out something unique. And because not all of us are handy with the crafting (ahem), I tend to heavily rely on the creativity of others. I like to think that I’m doing my part to boost the economy this holiday season. For example, Blurb lets you make seriously beautiful books using their free tools. Just add photos and text, choose your options (like paper and cover type), and then order. But relax, because they have put together the cool Blurb Gift Center to give you lots of ideas.
Holiday Cards. Schmoliday Cards. Face it you have A LOT of people to say happy holidays to. Don’t worry, I’ve rounded up the best holiday cards from some of my favorite stationary spots. Whether you like classic Hanukkah/Christmas cards or more contemporary designs, there are literally thousands available. Fortunately I narrowed it down just for you.
It’s not a proper holiday without excessive eating. You know the kind, un-buttoning-your-pants-heavy-breathing-needing-a-nap, kind of eating. No matter what you celebrate, there’s one thing that every religion can agree on and that’s food. Which brings me to the reason why I’m licking my computer screen right now.
Make entertaining look easy. This year I volunteered to host Thanksgiving. Which also means I’m hosting Hanukkah. I work, have two kids, two animals, a fourth birthday party coming up, and about a million other obligations. Oh, and I’m a vegetarian (which is totally relevant because it’s Thanksgiving). Luckily there are tons of places to make it look like I put way more time and effort into hosing than I actually will (If you’re coming over to my house for Thanksgiving please ignore the previous sentence.)
I love wrapping paper. There I said it. I like to wrap gifts, but most of all I love to rip open them open. Did you realize that there are artists out there that actually make wrapping paper? Neither did I (but then again, I did get hit with the dumb stick when I was younger.)
